Working through BMDMI churches:
Mark & Diane Shade were approved as career missionary candidates to Nicaragua in February of 2015. They arrived in Nicaragua to begin language school in May of 2016. In August of 2016, Mark completed the Intermediate Spanish class! In October of 2016, Diane completed the Basic Spanish class. In September, Mark and Diane began their ministry.
Living in Managua, Nicaragua, the Shades are serving the pastors of the BMDMI churches - lifting them up as Barnabas did for the pastors of the New Testament. Though there are many ways they will be encouraging the pastors, their largest efforts are through the following ministries:
Food distribution - helping the pastors feed the children and seniors in their communities
Movie ministry - showing Christian films in the churches, which share the gospel and teach Bible truths
Sewing school ministry - through a program that teaches ladies to sew, in order to help them find work and be able to provide clothing and such for their families, Mark and Diane will assist the churches in facilitating the classes, machines, materials and other resources necessary
Fellowship - as the pastors are all spread very far apart, they often feel alone and need encouragement, prayer time together, Bible study time together and just time to fellowship together. This is the very foundation of our ministry to the pastors of BMDMI churches in Nicaragua.
These are just a few of the ministries and tools Mark and Diane are using to lift up and encourage the pastors but also to help make disciples and share the gospel. When asked, Mark will preach the Word and share the message of salvation as well as other messages from the Bible. Mark and Diane will also continue to seek how God would have them serve the people and pastors of Nicaragua.
