Ben Fortney was approved as a Sojourner Missionary to Honduras in February 2016. Ben moved to Honduras from Lansdale, PA. Ben began working as a LEAD teacher at the Good Shepherd Christian Academy in 2015. As a Sojourner missionary, Ben worked toward the development and the implementation of a discipleship program for the children and staff at the Good Shepherd Children’s Home. He also worked at the Thomas Herrington Bible Institute.

Nely worked at the Good Shepherd Christian Academy as Teacher and Secretary 2014-2015. It was there that Ben and Nely began working together and developed a Friendship. In November of 2016, they became engaged. They were married in the USA April 29, 2017. A few months later they were both approved as full-time missionaries of BMDMI

Nely is working as the co-director of GSCA. She also leads a small group during Friday night youth group and helps lead Sunday School for the children on Sundays. Ben pastors and disciples those at the home by leading Weekly Sunday Services, Weekly Youth Group meetings and additional Bible studies in the casitas. He also is involved with several pastors in planting a church in the Valley of San Francisco/Zamorano.
