God is touching hundreds of lives through her.

GSCA Celebration - Laurie Johnson - 16 years of service

Friday, July 8th, 2016

Friday Laurie reached one of those milestones in her life of service to our Lord Jesus Christ and the Children of Honduras.

God prompted her to start The Good Shepherd Christian Academy in the year 2000. She taught 1st-6th in a single room behind the main house at the GSCH children's home. Sixteen years later she is passing the baton to the next generation of leadership. The GSCA has grown from its humble beginnings to a student body that averages 150 students in grades pre-kinder to ninth grade.

What a joy it was to see all the love. The fountain is beautiful. I had no clue they planned to retire my parking space (that is where the fountain is now)! The teachers and students outdid themselves.

I thank all who came to celebrate. Words can’t describe how I feel. I know I won’t miss the drive, but I will miss the students and teachers. I am so thankful God allowed me to start GSCA 16 years ago.

I am grateful He is allowing GSCA to continue under Brooke Pizzati and Olga Pinoth. Brooke has done an outstanding job with the L.E.A.D. teacher program for the bilingual area. It was a dream come true for me. Just hearing the kids speak English is amazing.

Olga Pinoth does an excellent job as Academic Director (Principal). These two women will need all your prayers and support as GSCA moves forward.

El Jardin de Laurie (Laurie's Garden)

Monument to God at work through Laurie Johnson

The GSCA put together a monument to the testimony of God at work in and around us. The School named the area and fountain "Laurie's Garden". The ceremony, and following celebration was emotionally moving.

What a wonderful day!

Fingerprints

From time to time we are blessed to witness the fingerprints of God at work around us.

It is such a cool thing to be a part of God's vision reaching the world for Christ.

Baptist Medical & Dental Mission International was founded in 1974 by Missionaries Charlie and Carolyn Herrington in Tegucigalpa, Honduras.

Prior to BMDMI's establishment, the Herringtons served in Honduras for six years working in evangelism and church development. The Lord richly blessed their early ministry efforts evidenced by the three churches planted during that time.

WE ARE COMING TO THE STATES...

We are coming to the States this year and looking for speaking engagements. We should arrive the beginning of September and remain until the first part of November. If you are interested in setting up a date for us to share with your Church, Sunday School Class, or some other group drop us a note and let's get together.
