Recently the Sky Pratt Team helped us in our Eye Clinic. Team members asked questions of each person. "Do you have problems seeing things in the distance? Do you have trouble reading or threading a needle?" they asked. As I watched I realized we were doing so much more than giving out glasses or eye drops or sunglasses. We were telling each person that we valued them as God's creation. One lady in her 90's began to share that her problem was not with her eyes but her legs hurt every night when she tried to rest. We listened and prayed even though there were at least 100 waiting to come to the Eye Clinic. Sometimes we all just want to know that someone is willing to listen and to care about how we feel. I began to thank the Lord that He values each and every one of us. Isaiah 43 starts out in verse 1, "But now, this is what the Lord says-- he who created you, he who formed you; I have summoned you by name and you are mine." Then verse 4 goes on, "Since you are precious and honored in my sight and because I love you." Many times we are simply conveying to people that they are valued by us but even more importantly they are precious and honored and valued by God, the creator of the universe.
