It Has Been A Great Summer

The summer team season is winding down and what a great summer we experienced here at the Guaimaca Ministries. We were excited to have our grandson, Connor Figueroa, visit and serve with us for the month of June. Connor worked hard and came to love the people of Honduras. He especially enjoyed getting to know all of "our girls" living here on the Guaimaca Campus.

Hands for Jesus Christian School

There has been much activity at Hands for Jesus Christian School. We celebrated Indian Day and also held our annual Spelling Bee. Students worked so hard preparing for both of these special events. Our sponsored children realize the sacrifice make by many of you that allows them to attend Hands for Jesus. During the month of June a group of teachers came to present workshops for our teachers at the school.  The teachers could not stop smiling and sharing all the things they learned.

Eye Clinics

It has been great to be able to hold so many eye clinics during the past three months. Last week we were having our 9th clinic in 14 days. We were tired and weary. Loading and unloading in a new village each day plus restocking used glasses each evening was difficult for us "old folks."  At the last clinic we just wanted to get finished with the day. A mother came with her young daughter whose glasses were obviously broken. We were able to find not just one but two pairs of glasses for the young girl. The mother said, "May I give you a testimony? Two years ago I knew my daughter needed glasses. I began to pray and cry out to God because I had no money. You came to our village and gave my daughter glasses. Last week the glasses broke so once again I began to pray and ask God or help. Today you came and gave my child not one but two pairs of glasses. I am grateful to God and grateful to you." I began to feel better and the weariness drained away from my heart. Psalm 34:15 The eyes of the Lord are on the righteous and his ears are attentive to their cry.  This righteous mother cried out to God and allowed us to become a small part of His answer.  During the month of July, two gentlemen came through the Lions Club in South Carolina bringing a machine that works very well on children. God sees every need, cares for his children and puts the right people in place if we are willing to trust and follow Him.

Thank You

Arise, cry out in the night, as the watches of the night begin; pour out your heart like water in the presence of the Lord. Lift up your hands to him for the lives of your children, who faint from hunger at the head every street. Lamentations 2:19  We want to say thank you to all who have helped us in our work so far this year. Pray that we will have discernment led by the Holy Spirit. Pray that the decisions we make will be sound and right.

Please Continue to Pray
