The past two months have been a whirlwind! We returned home three weeks early after receiving word that Dennis’ oldest brother was critically ill. We came home to be with the family. He had open heart surgery for valve replacement and a bypass. Everything went well with that surgery. Then his overall health began to decline. After almost 7 weeks in intensive care, he passed away.
We had unfinished projects to wrap up in Honduras before we came home on furlough, but God had other plans. Thank you, BMDMI, for allowing us this time with our family. We are grateful for the time we had and very appreciative for the prayers and encouraging words during this time. Please continue to keep the family in your prayers.
Our newsletter, speaking engagements and other family activities were put on hold during this time. We are now trying to get back into the swing of things. We have also tried to catch up on seeing our grandchildren in their various school activities. Our oldest grandson is a senior in high school. Where has the time gone?!
We have already spoken at two churches and participated in a mission fair in Bennettsville, South Carolina. We would love to share with others about how God has blessed our ministry this past year. If you would be interested in having us, please contact us by email. The following is our schedule thus far:
October 23 - 11:00 a.m. - Woodlawn Baptist Church, Vicksburg, MS
6:00 p.m. - First Baptist Church, Carthage, MS
November 6 - 11:00 a.m. - First Baptist Church, Haleyville, AL
November 11 & 12 - BMDMI National Conference, Hattiesburg, MS
Your support is vital to our ministry and we thank you from the bottom of our hearts!
"Stand firm in the Lord." Philippians 4:1
In our journey of faith, how can we finish the race well and "press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called us heavenward in Christ Jesus?" Philippians 3:14 During difficult times, we tend to take our eyes off God. But, also, during these times, we are drawn to depend fully on Christ to keep us moving forward. He will take us through the greatest challenges and lead us safely home.
