Hurricane Relief in Guatemala

December 3, 2020

Relief work has shifted from COVID 19 to Hurricane. Two monster Hurricanes hit Central America two weeks apart. Although Guatemala did not take a direct hit, heavy rains brought mass flooding and landslides, causing many to lose everything. The areas affected and devastated by the first storm, were flooded again behind the second.
A pastor in Coban reached out to Makko sharing the needs and how the Church was planning to serve as a relief center and community kitchen. The Church had over 9ft of water during the first storm. A week after the second storm they had not been able to get in to access the damage because the waters had not subsided.
Makko and Koki have made deliveries of food and other supplies to the area. When they returned with a second delivery after the second storm, the Pastor received the delivery in his home. As you can imagine these areas are going to be in desperate need of relief teams to help with recovery. Pray how God can use you to help Guatemala recover from the Hurricanes while still struggling with the COVID 19 pandemic.
