Hurricane Relief in Honduras

Two major hurricanes made landfall in northern Nicaragua in November leaving devastation across all of Central America. Most of our missionaries in Central America had already returned to the US for the holidays and a time of fund-raising. Upon seeing the news of the hurricanes, missionary Chris Williams decided to return to Honduras for a few days to help out with relief efforts as best he could. Most of the flooding damage was in the northern part of the country along the Caribbean coast.
Chris and a couple of drivers who normally help us during team season loaded up a large truck full of clothing, beans, rice and other food items. The clothing was donated by the Sabine team and had previously been shipped to Honduras to be used by the team, but the team was unable to travel because of the COVID pandemic. In all, more than 20,000 pounds of food items were distributed to six churches in the San Pedro Sula area and one of our BMDMI churches in Trujillo.
Below are pictures of the work that was done to bless so many families. The pastor of our church in Trujillo also made a video of the event. Thank you to all who helped give to this project and a special thanks to Benjie Colvin and the Sabine team for providing the clothes that were distributed.
