Updates from Guatemala
2022 is off to a great start!
Join us in welcoming Franc Perez as our new Assistant Field Director. Franc comes to us with a great deal of mission experience, specifically sports ministry. Franc has felt and answered the calling to ministry for years and served in multiple capacities. We count ourselves blessed to have found such a Godly man who loves evangelizing and most importantly making disciples.
The first team of the year arrived on January 7th. Oklahoma University BCM sent a team down to serve and share the gospel. What a blessed week it was! These students boldly shared their faith and God did the rest! At the end of the week we had 60 new believers. Only GOD!
Our late January team had to reschedule due to COVID. However, we were excited to host two more teams in February with Overflow Church and Tommy Taylor teams.
The Guatemalan Government is now requiring all visitors to have proof of the COVID vaccine along with a negative test to enter the country. While it is difficult and prevents some of our visitors from coming this year, it is intended to protect the people of Guatemala. Hospitals all over the country are failing and have failed to handle the pandemic effectively. Hopefully this will lessen the transmission of Covid.
“God answers our prayers not because we are good, but because He is good.” -AW Tozer Thanks to a very generous donor, we have purchased a brand new Toyota Hiace Van for the ministry. Our teams will be riding comfortably and in style! Additionally, we have a Toyota Hilux ordered. It will be a few months for it to arrive but we could not be more excited!
The four feeding programs are going great. I love visiting and watching the kids' faces light up and get excited as they are hearing the Bible stories.
Our designated funds are getting low. We need your help to keep them going. It takes $1,000 per month to operate these programs. How can you help?
- Pray; prayer is always the answer.
- Monthly donors; 40 monthly donors at $25 would fully fund the programs.
- VBS; most vbs programs have a mission emphasis and a suggested offering designation. Choose us! We can put all those coins to good use! I have always loved kids helping kids. This would be a great way for the kids to get involved with missions now.
